Pennridge School Board Overview

Carolyn Sciarrino
Pennridge School Board President
Dear Pennridge Community,
Thank you for visiting the Pennridge School Board’s official webpage. It is a privilege to serve on this board, and I am honored to do so as Board President. I am committed to leading with transparency, thoughtful decision-making, and a steady dedication to the education and well-being of our students.
Our board is committed to meaningful progress. One of our priorities, pending board consensus, will be strengthening the district’s financial position. We intend to communicate clearly about our current realities, our goals, and the reasoning behind our decisions. While some choices may be difficult, our purpose remains centered on supporting every student’s growth and success.
We will also continue working to expand opportunities for students by improving reading proficiency and standardized test performance, enhancing career pathways, supporting UBCTS, and encouraging students to return from cyber charter programs to Pennridge Cyber or our schools.
This site is designed to keep you informed. Here, you will find meeting information, updates, newsletters, and direct access to BoardDocs. These tools provide a clear view of the work happening across the district, especially for those unable to attend meetings regularly.
Your voice matters. We welcome your input during public comment or by emailing PSDSchoolboard@pennridge.org, which reaches all nine board members as well as the Superintendent.
Thank you for your continued partnership and engagement.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Sciarrino
President, Pennridge School Board

The Board of School Directors believes that an informed and involved community helps all stakeholders. The Board invites you to attend School Board and Committee meetings and take an active role in the educational affairs of your community. The Board encourages all parents and community members to remain constructively engaged in your schools by expressing your views, communicating with Board members, and participating in parent-teacher groups or on special committees, when possible.
- Regular Board meetings are held monthly at 6:30pm and are open to the public or through livestream. All meetings are published and posted at least 24 hours before the time of the meeting (per Board Policy #006) in local media and on the website. All official business is conducted publicly except when the matter involves any issues enumerated in statute for which the Board may meet in a private executive session.
- Major committees meet regularly to plan, review, and discuss items within the focus of the committee. Board Directors, as well as Administrative personnel, serve on district committees where proposals are prepared for the entire Board. Committee meetings typically start at 6:30 PM and are open to the public or available through a livestream.
- Community members attending in person may sign up to provide public comment at the meeting.
