Title IX
The Pennridge School District is committed to complying fully with all Federal and state laws banning discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity/expression concerning instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and employment practice. Students and/or staff who believe they or others have been subject to Title IX sexual harassment, other discrimination, or retaliation are encouraged to promptly report such alleged incidents to a Title IX Coordinator.
The Director of Student Services / Title IX Compliance Officer will be responsible for addressing Title IX concerns involving students. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for addressing Title IX concerns involving staff.

Title IX is a civil rights statute enacted in 1972 to prohibit discrimination
based on sex in education programs and activities.

What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual Harassment
- A school employee conditioning an educational benefit or service upon a person's participation in unwelcome sexual conduct
- Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to the school's education program or activity
- Sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking
Sexual Harassment is defined as "conduct on the basis of sex that satisfies one or more of the following: (1) An employee of the District conditioning the provision of an aid, benefit, or service of the District on an individual's participation in unwelcome sexual conduct; (2) Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that is effectively denies a person equal access to the District's education program or activity; or (2) "Sexual assault" as defined in 20 U.S.C. 1092 (f)(6)(A)(v), "dating violence" as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291 (a)(10), "domestic violence" as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291 (a)(8), or "stalking" as defined in 34 U.S.C. 12291 (a)(30)
