Principal | Pennridge High School
Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Stephen Cashman
Dr. Cashman grew up in Roxborough, Philadelphia. After high school, he attended Temple University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Criminology with a specialization in Juvenile Behavior. During his time working within the Juvenile Probation Department, he was enamored by the positivity and compassion the teachers displayed as they worked with a difficult population.
This led Dr. Cashman to pursue a career in education. With a master’s degree in Education from Eastern College, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Delaware Valley College, and a doctorate from Delaware Valley University, Dr. Cashman is entering his 20th year in education with 15 years of administrative experience at both the elementary and secondary levels. The doctoral work completed by Dr. Cashman focused on teachers as change agents; more specifically, what allows some teachers to manage and navigate change more successfully than others.
His focus with Pennridge High School is to provide an environment where students and teachers can grow and learn together. The idea that the high school is a safe place to make mistakes and learn from them is a concept that anchors many of Dr. Cashman’s decisions.
