WIDA ACCESS Testing

WIDA ACCESS for ELLs testing will occur with all multilingual learners enrolled in the English Langauge Development (ELD) program this winter during the testing window. This includes students who have opted out of the ELD program.

The 25-26 testing window opens January 5th and closes February 20th. Click here to learn more about WIDA.

The test will assess your child’s English Language Skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The assessment, called ACCESS for ELLs, assesses comprehension and communication in English and is used throughout the state of Pennsylvania and most of the country.

This assessment identifies your child’s language skills in both social and academic English. Social language is used to communicate for everyday purposes. Academic language is used to communicate in the content of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Please contact your child’s school ELD teacher if you have any questions regarding this required annual test.
