All parents have the right to information about their child’s education in a language they understand. When your child enrolls in school, the school will ask you about the language you would like to use when communicating with the school. This helps your school identify your language needs so they can provide an interpreter or translated documents.

Interpretation Services
Our school staff offer interpretation services whenever requested by a parent or when school staff anticipate interpretation services might be needed to meaningfully communicate. This includes parent-teacher conferences, meetings or any other conversations about a student's education.
TalkingPoints
All school personnel use TalkingPoints to communicate directly with mulitlingual families.
What is TalkingPoints?
TalkingPoints is an easy and safe way families can communicate in their home languages with their child’s teachers for free. We will be using this platform to communicate with you about your child’s education and progress.
How can Families use TalkingPoints?
There are two ways families can use TalkingPoints.
- School and teacher messages will come directly to the phone number that is registered in our system as a SMS text or through the TalkingPoints Parent App.
- You can reply by text or through the app. It is free to message through the app.
Families will receive messages in the language they have listed as their correspondence language during registration. Families can reply in any language and the message will be translated into English for the school. If families prefer to not receive text messages from TalkingPoints, they can reply with "GOODBYE" at any time.
Qualified, Competent Interpreters
Our schools provide language assistance to limited-English proficient families effectively with appropriate, competent staff-or appropriate and competent outside resources. We are always looking for qualified interpreters. If you are interested in interpreting for Pennridge, please contact Carly Baker at cabaker@pennridge.org.
Phone Interpretation
All school personnel utilize Language Line for any meeting where an interpreter is needed. We offer phone interpretation language services whereby school staff can communicate with families who need assistance through an interpreter on the phone. This service can also be used for in-person meetings with the interpreter on speaker phone.
The district and schools can coordinate interpretation services upon request. This contracted interpretation service provides access to interpreters in more than 118 different languages (appointment is needed).
