Beyond the Bell
The Pennridge School District's Beyond the Bell program was established to provide targeted remediation for students who were directly impacted by the pandemic. Below is a summary of how each school supports students.
Sellersville Elementary School has implemented the Beyond the Bell in the morning. Students are dropped off by their parents at 7:15 am. Since our school improvement plan focuses on second-grade math, we chose this as our focus. The students come into the class and work on skills that were a struggle for them and on new skills that are upcoming to give them a heads up on material they will be learning in the upcoming week. Participation has been strong for those involved. Students work until 8:05 and then go to the cafeteria for breakfast before school starts.
J.M. Grasse Elementary School has implemented the Beyond the Bell before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45–8:20 am. It combines small group instruction and online programs such as Freckle. Grasse has one teacher for grades 1-2 and another teacher for grades 3-5.
M.M. Seylar Elementary School has implemented the Beyond the Bell before school, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:45–8:20 am. Students work independently and in small groups on sight words, reading comprehension, reading fluency, phonics, problem-solving, etc., while using Study Island, Khan Academy, Freckle, Booklet, Xtra Math, First in Math, and ConnectED.
Bedminster Elementary School has implemented the Beyond the Bell after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:50–4:50 pm. Students work independently and in small groups utilizing various resources.
