The Pennridge School District opposes the Petition for the Establishment of a New Representation Plan
A group of individuals have filed a petition with the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas seeking to change the District’s method of electing school board members from an At-Large voting plan to a regional voting plan.
If the Petition would be approved by the Court, Pennridge residents would no longer be able to vote to elect all nine board members but instead could only vote to elect three board members from the proposed representative region in which they reside.
The District and the School Board oppose this Petition and believe that maintaining the current At-Large system, which allows all residents to vote on all board seats, is in the best interest of the school district. Pennridge School District is one community and should stay that way.
The hearing on the Petition will be held before President Judge Wallace Bateman, Jr., of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas on January 17, 2023, at 10:00 am, in Courtroom 450, Bucks County Judicial Center, Doylestown, PA.
