The course expectations listed here are specific to AP Physics and in addition to those listed under class expectations on my homepage, www.pennridge.org/dcotner-davis/homepage.html.
- Remember to check the monthly schedule on a regular basis for chapter homework sets, due dates, lab days, quiz and test days.
- There are two double periods scheduled for this class. They are:
Day 1 and 4, periods 5/6 and 7/8.
- You will be conducting lab work and mini-lab activities as they relate
to the curriculum.
- When we finish the curriculum, we will continue to review and practice for the AP exam and you will work on various culminating activities.
- You will be keeping a lab notebook. The format and procedures to follow will be given to you prior to the first lab. You may be asked to provide proof of the lab work that you have done in this course.
- Chapter quizzes are worth 50 points.
- Unit tests are worth 100 points. You will have the opportunity to
earn a homework pass if you earn an A on the unit test before test
corrections. You will be permitted to do test corrections for half
credit.
- Homework passes can be used in place of Practice Homework Sets or
Graded Homework Sets. Homework Passes cannot be used in place of Lab
Reports or Mini-Lab Activities.
- Practice Homework Sets will be checked for valid attempts to complete.
- Graded Homework Sets will be graded for accuracy and will be graded
using AP Physics guidelines/grading rubrics.
- Quarterlies and the final exam are worth 200 points. A Homework Pass
can be earned on the quarterlies.
- You may be exempted from the final exam if you have a B average overall and have taken one of the AP Physics exams.
- The AP Physics C exams will be administered in the afternoon of May
12, 2008.
- You will receive two scores: one for Mechanics and one for Electricity & Magnetism.
