  • Remember to check the monthly schedule on a regular basis for chapter homework sets, due dates, lab days, quiz and test days.
  • There are two double periods scheduled for this class. They are: Day 1 and 4, periods 5/6 and 7/8.
  • You will be conducting lab work and mini-lab activities as they relate to the curriculum.
  • When we finish the curriculum, we will continue to review and practice for the AP exam and you will work on various culminating activities.
  • You will be keeping a lab notebook. The format and procedures to follow will be given to you prior to the first lab. You may be asked to provide proof of the lab work that you have done in this course.
  • Chapter quizzes are worth 50 points.
  • Unit tests are worth 100 points. You will have the opportunity to earn a homework pass if you earn an A on the unit test before test corrections. You will be permitted to do test corrections for half credit.
  • Homework passes can be used in place of Practice Homework Sets or Graded Homework Sets. Homework Passes cannot be used in place of Lab Reports or Mini-Lab Activities.
  • Practice Homework Sets will be checked for valid attempts to complete.
  • Graded Homework Sets will be graded for accuracy and will be graded using AP Physics guidelines/grading rubrics.
  • Quarterlies and the final exam are worth 200 points. A Homework Pass can be earned on the quarterlies.
  • You may be exempted from the final exam if you have a B average overall and have taken one of the AP Physics exams.
  • The AP Physics C exams will be administered in the afternoon of May 12, 2008.
  • You will receive two scores: one for Mechanics and one for Electricity & Magnetism.
  • If you have any questions throughout the year, please contact me via e-mail, or make an appointment to meet with me.
  • STUDY GROUPS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!!
